Zalora is one of Asia’s top online fashion and lifestyle destinations, operating in markets such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. As Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) gained popularity during the pandemic, Zalora recognized an opportunity to support its customers with more flexible payment options. The company wanted to launch BNPL quickly to meet rising demand across all its markets. To do so, they teamed up with Shopback PayLater and BridgerPay to deliver a fast, seamless solution that required minimal internal resources.
Challenge
As BNPL adoption accelerated, Zalora faced a common obstacle: limited tech resources. The company had specific customization needs and a tight launch timeline, but couldn’t afford to divert its engineering team from other priorities. Integrating a new payment provider across multiple markets would normally require significant effort and coordination. Zalora needed a partner that could handle the technical complexity, reduce development effort, and deliver a seamless customer experience that aligned with their brand.
Solution
BridgerPay served as the integration layer between Zalora and Shopback PayLater, handling all technical setup, custom requirements, and platform compatibility. By taking ownership of the entire integration process, BridgerPay enabled Zalora to go live with BNPL in less than two weeks. The platform connected to Shopback’s API and routed payments according to Zalora’s unique business logic, without disrupting the user experience. BridgerPay’s intuitive admin tools also gave Zalora full visibility and control over transactions, allowing their team to manage updates without additional engineering input. With the launch, Zalora expanded BNPL coverage across all its operating markets, driving higher order volume and average cart size from new and returning customers.
